As visitors navigate through the exhibitions, they are encouraged to become micro-patrons of the arts, associating their appreciation of the works with small monetary values. Only patrons will be able to view the exhibitions once the show is over and they will receive a link and image as recognition for their generosity." 0-Day Art supports artists being paid for their work. However, we do not believe in approaches to the monetization of art that result in the works being taken offline or access to them being restricted. This release collects all of the works from Art Micro Patronage: Season 1. The first six shows feature over fifty artists working within a variety of media, ranging from video and animated GIFs to browser plugins and website- specific installations. Art Micro Patronage responded to our initial release of the Material Motion show saying, "AMP is not really locking up these work from the Internet. A quick google search shows that all but 1 of the videos are freely available on video sites or the artists personal websites." Regardless of whether or not these works are also available elsewhere, the model adopts a stance that one must pay in order to have continued access to them. Furthermore, even if they are available on disparate websites, individual works may not reflect the overall vision of a curated show available only to members that pledge on AMP. As AMP alluded to in their response, nothing is ever really exclusive or untouchable once its on the open web. We have archived these works so that they will be available to the widest possible audience in perpetuity, freely distributable to all.
